Police officers scale the heights in memory of Niamh Curry

Eight energetic police officers from Northamptonshire are planning to conquer three peaks in 24 hours to raise money to help children with Neuroblastoma, in memory of local girl, Niamh Curry, who died in May 2012.

The eight officers, all aged between 25 and 35, are in training to complete the national three peaks challenge on 28/29 July 2012 – climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, all within 24 hours.

Supporters have already pledged over £1000 for Niamh’s appeal with Neuroblastoma Alliance UK, but the officers hope to raise a lot more to help other children fight this aggressive childhood cancer.

Organiser PC Steven Clarke (32), said:

“We were all incredibly moved by Niamh’s story and her brave fight against Neuroblastoma and now we want to raise money to help other children with this horrible cancer. As police officers, we’re all pretty fit, but this is still a daunting challenge. We’ve been training hard and are raring to go!”
